Adventure for the Joyful Spirits!

The former Archangel of the arts, Lord Xuohs, has been deceiving dwellers of many lands in order to be allowed inside them. When Xuohs enters these lands, it redesigns these places in many ways, such as changing the color of the sky, repositioning rainbows, reforming flat oceans into fortresses, making frozen wastelands into festive paradises, manipulating gravity, and even creating new species. It does this by painting with its paintbrush on its wondrous canvas—everything Xuohs paints on this canvas becomes the reality of the land. Now it’s up to three young heroes, Asmund Cranite (wielder of the sword of the spirit), Tait Astron (user of astronomical miracles from above), and Eydis Virtue (summoner of three heavenly beasts), to step up and fight against this deceitful evil before it conquers the entire world without any resistance. They will journey through many lands that have been transformed by the archfiend’s magic, such as green oceans with giant anglerfishes, mystical forest-mountains with werewolf tree-nymphs, and valleys of rainbows and mysterious berries with talking coach roaches. The three young heroes face many challenges along their adventures, but who says they can’t have an absolute blast while doing it? They’ve never been more excited about anything in their entire lives. There has never been a quest like this and Asmund, Tait, and Eydis can’t wait to see what they’ll discover out in this massive world of awe and wonders.

While raising and empowering their family Norvel and his wife then dedicated their lives to educating and mentoring young people and contributing tirelessly to community outreach organizations in the Washington D.C. area. Christ Condemned: On the Incarnation and the Trinity

Christ Condemned is a critical examination of the fundamental doctrines of Christianity, following in the long tradition of employing philosophy to understand and defend the teachings of Scripture. These doctrines are proven from the absolute necessity practical reason has for a solution to the problem of sin. This is inspired by the work of Immanuel Kant. As Kant proved that the existence of God is a necessary postulate of practical reason, to persevere in one's duty, so also the Incarnation and the Trinity are necessary to repent, to turn from sin to righteousness. These doctrines are illuminated in twelve propositions. Each proposition is first proven by reason, then by Scripture. The Scripture proofs not only demonstrate the doctrine itself, but also the reason for its truth.

The 2008 recession hits. The US economy goes belly-up and sentences a young generation to wayward lives. With nothing to lose, Lance Pototschnik and his best friend, Jackson Greenly, decide to go for their artist dreams. Lance begins a grassroots initiative to sell an original screenplay to Hollywood. Money Physics and Distributive Justice

Can physics explain the economy? Many people believe that there is a lot of money in the world and that its distribution among people is unjust. Most people also believe that the reason for economic crises is an inherent illness of the system or the result of misguided or even tricky actions that can be avoided. In this book, it is argued that the amount of money in developed countries is zero, the income distribution among people is purely statistical, and that volatility in the economy is inevitable, just like the fluctuation in our mood. Why are very few people so rich and many so poor, and why do CEO’s make so much money? We show that income distribution is the universal distribution that also exists in many other phenomena, e.g., the distribution of voters among parties, the distribution of buyers of books, and the distribution of the number of residents in cities. It also exists in the frequency of digits in data files, the frequency of earthquakes according to their intensity, and many other random phenomena. This easy-to-calculate universal distribution well predicts the economic inequality as reflected in the Gini Index, the relative percentage of the poor, the salaries of CEOs, and the fraction of wealth held by the richest. This book can be understood by everybody! The book is of interest to a wide audience of economists, sociologists, politicians, and the general public alike. It relies on theories from physics and economics, and its contents are based on scientif ...

Travels in the Time of Trump

It is better to travel than to arrive. So the saying goes. And Paula DiPerna is a seasoned traveller. Been there. Done that. A modern Marco Polo. But suddenly in 2017 she finds herself in unknown territory. Uncharted waters. Floundering without a map. And where no digital technology can help her. Where is she? She is in flight from her beloved New York. In flight from America. In flight from the chaos of the Presidency of Donald Trump. DiPerna’s is the tale of how a nation sleepwalked into what to many people around the world now see as a political nightmare, starting first in the broken town of Scranton, Pennsylvania, where DiPerna campaigned for Hillary Clinton, hoping against hope. It is a tale of incredulity seen not only through the eyes of an educated, American professional but also through the eyes of taxi drivers, hotel clerks, waitresses and shopkeepers, all wondering what could have happened to the USA. In Cape Town. In Beijing. In Berlin. It is a tale of a world gone crazy. And it begs the question: what do we do now? DiPerna does indeed arrive – with a bump. ‘My journey had played fast and loose with time zones and lounges as I ice-skated along on the surface of each day, dabbling in silly luxuries, all transient. And yet, on the road, I could see even more clearly that resistance to mediocrity and rebuilding of the idea of common good is urgent.’ Paula DiPerna’s incisive Travels in the Time of Trump puts much-needed distance and time between cataclysmic events to ...

"Time is an illusion until God's appointed time," is the major theme based on A.W. Tozer's quote in The Pursuit of God: "A spiritual kingdom lies all about us, enclosing us, embracing us, altogether within reach of our inner selves, waiting for us to recognize it. The two young protagonists, Shale Snyder, an American, and Daniel Sperling, an Israeli, meet in the seventh dimension--a reality outside of time. Where Leads the Road

In my life I have been fortunate enough to experience many unusual and varied things. I have always liked poetry and have tried to capture the range of emotions that everyone lives through. I hope people like my clumsy attempts, but as long as they generate some response in the reader, I feel that my job has been done. "“WHERE LEADS THE ROAD is a collection filled with one man’s thoughts about the world and his experience. While the topics are varied and wide-ranging in WHERE LEADS THE ROAD, what is clear is that William Gordon Mallett has poured his entire life into this collection. It is made up of memories both big and small, snippets of everyday scenes such as the pad of a cats paw are written alongside poetic political commentaries and reflections on global society. For the most part, the poems in the collection ring of nostalgia. IR Verdict: WHERE LEADS THE ROAD, a highly personal and intentionally soothing collection of poems by William Gordon Mallett, is both at its worst and best when rooted in pure nostalgia.” - IndieReader Review

Not the Seasons I Expected

When it comes to college football, there are fans and there are fanatics. Destined by geography and family tradition to latch onto the Arkansas Razorbacks, Blant Hurt is of the second type. Like most devotees, he was captivated by his love of his team at an early age. But unlike more casual fans, Hurt found himself attaching what some might call “outsize life importance” to the fortunes of the Razorbacks —a team which, like his own life, had a habit of going in directions that he did not foresee. In this remarkably candid, funny, and introspective memoir, Blant Hurt recounts his half-century as the most zealous of college football fans. Beginning with the so-called Game of the Century when he was nine-years old, he tells how this enduring passion has colored his relationships with his family and friends, shaped his romances, and, for better or worse, marked every era of his life—indeed, marked his sense of life itself.      A self-described “literary man,” Hurt draws on his love of narrative and storytelling to drill down deep inside himself and examine the soul of a college football fanatic. Not the Seasons I Expected is that rare “sports” book that focuses on the hopes and dreams of the people in the bleachers, rather than the ones on the playing field. As such, it’s sure to speak to delirious/heartbroken fans everywhere.

The Horse That Haunts My Heart

A coming of age memoir: A horse-crazy girl growing up in the Midwest, Deborah Smith Parker longs to live a cowboy’s life in the West. When she turns 13 her parents allow her to live her dream on a western ranch where she meets her first love -- a horse named Tank. After a bumpy start, their extraordinary relationship begins to emerge, complete with the poignancy, hilarity and drama that tested relationships undergo. Set against the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, Parker's coming-of-age-memoir takes place in the 1950s during three magical summers at a horse ranch and chronicles the development of her friendship with Tank. Looking back on that time decades later, Parker comes to realize that Tank was a kind of spiritual guide who protected her from danger and guided her to a greater understanding of the connections of the seen with the unseen worlds that would come to play a greater part in her life. With humor and well-wrought description, Parker paints a vivid picture of life on the ranch — the dirt, hard work, risky antics, and dangers on the trail while learning about the consciousness of horses and the language in which they express it.

Return to my Native Land

As a young man I traveled to West Africa in search of my identity. I am a man of color, who was born in England. I visited West Africa in the mid-seventies before that area exploded into violence, and witnessed the displacement of its people. My adventure lasted 18 months, and covered the countries of Algeria, Mali, Burkina Faso (formerly Upper Volta), Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Liberia and Sierra Leone. An adventure like this probably couldn’t happen today. The desert has encroached on the south, and poverty has forced the increased migration of peoples from the savannah areas to the coastal countries... The journey I went through represented a coming of age that tested my young manhood. The stories in this book are intended to open people’s eyes to the real Africa. It is my intention to present a story to you, my readers, that will offer you a visceral experience of being with me on the mammy wagons charging through the forests. To have you sitting by my side as we hurtle across the Savannah landscape. To have you feel the suffocating heat in the swamplands of Sierra Leone. To take you to the humanity of the people I encountered on this journey. In so doing, I hope you will connect to and strengthen your own humanity. And perhaps in a small way this story will make all who read it a little more open and human. Such is the first step for all of us in finding ourselves, and some peace in this world today.

I’m not the Gwyneth Paltrow kind of writer. To read this book, you will not have to eradicate all traces of intelligence from that potato of a head, just to try to digest a bunch of new age woo-woo b*llocks. Nope - the sh*t I will share in the following pages really f*cking works, and you don’t need crystals or to be in touch with the spirit of a Native American dream walker to appreciate the difference it’ll make. Maybe a few of them could cause you to briefly question my/your sanity, but don’t all the best experiences in life make you do that? Ok, not all of them. But a few of the REALLY cool ones that also might involve sh*t like ancient ninja swords, velociraptors, V8 engines, copious amounts of alcohol and waking up in a foreign country wearing a clown outfit? Well, THAT kind do, don’t they? We don’t normally think of our brains as a part of the anatomy that needs exercising, as it’s processing sh*t all the time, isn’t it?
