Deputy Tony Wagner is more comfortable in the wilderness than anywhere else—until an attack robs him of his memory.
A bus en route to the Super Max prison crashes in the Colorado mountains. Tony joins the hunt for the inmates who have scattered. His team is ambushed, leaving a corrections officer dead, a US marshal critical, and Tony running for his life.
With bits and pieces of his past returning, he instinctively follows a stream. Along the way, an unexpected ally joins him.
Returning home is just the beginning as Tony struggles to recover from his injuries, both physical and emotional. He wonders if he has lost the thing that defines him. Will he ever have the nerve to track again?
